Asking for reviews the right way

  • Ask every customer. Do not choose to ask only people you think will leave five stars. Reviews that reflect real experiences build more trust.
  • Do not offer rewards. Discounts, gifts or entries in exchange for a review are against Google's policies and can get reviews removed.
  • Make it effortless. A card at the counter, in the bag, on the invoice, or on the table works because scanning takes seconds.
  • Ask at the right moment. Right after a job is finished or a good experience is the best time.
  • Reply to your reviews. Thank people and respond calmly to criticism; future customers read both.

Where to use your review card

Hand cards out at checkout, tuck them into packaging, leave them after a service visit, or place them in the waiting area. The same QR code also works on postcards, flyers and business cards. Need a code on its own? Try our free QR code generator, or design abusiness card to hand out alongside it.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Google review link?

Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile, search for your business name on Google, and choose Ask for reviews (sometimes labeled Share review form). Copy the link it shows and paste it into the tool. Google changes its menus from time to time, so if you do not see that option, search Google's help for 'share a link to your Business Profile review form'.

What size is the review card?

The card is 4 by 6 inches, the same as a standard photo or postcard. The PDF is 4.25 by 6.25 inches because it includes a 0.125 inch bleed on every side so printers can trim cleanly. Keep any text you add inside the 0.25 inch safe margin.

Is it okay to offer a discount or gift for leaving a review?

No. Google's policies prohibit offering incentives in exchange for reviews, and it is also best practice to ask every customer, not only the ones you expect to be happy. That is why this tool uses neutral wording that simply invites people to share their experience.

Can I use my own wording on the card?

You can choose from several neutral headlines. We kept the wording fixed on purpose so cards stay within Google's review policies. If you want custom copy, our design team can create it for you.

Will the QR code work for everyone?

The QR code points directly to the link you provide and uses a standard, widely supported format. It is drawn as vector shapes in the PDF so it stays sharp at any print size. Always scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone before printing a large batch.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere?

No. The logo is read and resized in your browser to build the PDF. It is not sent to our servers.

How do I print the card?

Open the PDF and print it at 100% (actual size) on heavy card stock, or send the file to any print shop. For professional results with premium stock and trimming, our team can print it for you.
